Indispensable Tools: The Plastic Drain Snake

Ever have your drains get clogged up? All sorts of junk goes down your shower drain, especially hair! Unfortunately, pipes aren't built to handle hair of any length, so they inevitably get blocked up on occasion.
But hold on! No need to worry just yet. You don't need to call a plumber out every time this happens (often it only takes a few months for a drain to accumulate enough blockage to cause a problem). You can go to your favorite home improvement / hardware store and pick up a little tool that will save you time, money, headache, and floods.
The plastic drain snake!
These are approximately two feet long and made of very heavy duty plastic. As you can see in the photo above, it's pretty self-explanatory. You shove the device down the drain as far as you can, then pull it out, and all the little prongs grab the blockage and pull them out.
When CHORE Masters technicians come to do their Home Maintenance Visit, this is one of the items they bring along. These are disposable, but are sturdy enough to clean all the drains in your house before disposing of them.
We really do have your best interest in mind! So if the only problem you have in your house is a slowly-draining drain, don't pick up the phone just yet to call us to come fix it (although we would be more than happy to if you would like, or you don't have the time). Pick up one of these on your way home from work and before dinner is ready you will have cleared drains.
